Spencer has finally figured it out – Pretty Little Liars – TV Show Review

The time has finally come for another Pretty Little Liars episode review. Last night’s episode was pretty much what you expected, the girls attempting to get information and in the end, only one of them does. And “A” once again is one step ahead of the girls. Lets begin.

Review postings include reviews on TV shows, books, music and movies. Reviews are simply, that reviews. I include information from each section and thus this information may or may not contain spoilers. Please take the warning now, if you don’t wish to see or read any SPOILERS, do not continue reading. If you do continue to reading, disregarding this warning, please don’t blame me if something is ruined for you. I did warn you after all. Also, review postings are my opinion and I stand by them. We may not have the same opinion and thus lets not argue over it.

Here is what we know, Emily is still pissed at Spencer for coming to her meeting with Alison. Thus Alison took off and hasn’t contacted Emily since. Hanna is trying to play in the middle, as well as Aria, but it’s not going well. Spencer is attempting to get information from the diary pictures she took before it was stolen by “A”. Aria is home alone again for a week while her Dad is out of town teaching, she’s in charge of Mike.

“Emily is so pissed at you that she’s pissed at me for being not pissed at you.” – Hanna

Emily and Aria come home to Aria’s house where a party is happening, and just when you think they’ve got the party to disappear, Mona is in Aria’s room. That’s not the place you want to find Mona, not at all. Mona says she was invited by Mike. Aria later learns that Mike and Mona are in some kind of relationship (dating or not we see a kiss). They were brought together by a new guidance counselor at the school, Jesse. It took me a while to figure out where I knew the actor from and it’s he’s the grown-up Wyatt from Charmed (where the actress who plays Aria’s Mom also starred). Either way, something just isn’t quite right.

Emily has her nerves running in high gear, even with her Dad home. She actually almost stabs him with scissors thinking “A” broke into her room. We do know that this happened after seeing a hand print left on the sill of Emily’s window. Emily’s Dad is worried for her so he goes to Mr. Ezra Fitz for some help. Ezra knows what he can do to keep Emily busy, she is going to co-direct the Spring Play with him.

“I think I have something that she can do to keep her busy.” – Ezra

Meanwhile Spencer is piecing together clues about “A” and forgetting all about school. Spencer even forgets about a test, not typical Spencer. She enlists Andrew to not only cover for her missing but to also help her with the test. She knows he is taking something to help him focus and is able to get a couple of pills off of him. This just doesn’t seem like a good idea to begin with but it’s Spencer so we just let it go. Anyway, Spencer has figured out that a local bar new the college is where Alison used to spend time with “Board Shorts” and she wants to go to the bar. No one is willing to go but Spencer goes by herself where she runs into Ezra. He is having a piece of pie and a beer. A nasty combination if I do say so myself. Ezra leaves but the waitress still brings his order to Spencer, who learns that beer Ezra drinks is called “Board Shorts Ale”. Thus she has figured out that Ezra is part of the “A” team.

Before this all goes down though, Emily has been locked in the school by “A”. But one thing I want to point out is that Mona and Ezra had a private meeting at school earlier in the day. Two “A” working together now? Oh I really hope not, it would be much more fun to see them battle rather than work together. Anyway, Emily’s Dad comes to rescue her but passes out room after because he has developed a heart condition. Emily goes back to Aria’s because her Mom doesn’t want her sleeping in the hospital room.

Meanwhile Hanna has developed a plan of her own. She thinks that she can figure out who was at the dentist the day Alison was supposedly killed and they can piece together who the girl is that was mistaken for Alison. While Hanna is there, she breaks into the file room, gets the paper needed but is them gased by “A” and passes out. When she awakens her Mouth is in pain and she goes to the girls for help.

ImageHanna has Spencer take out of her mouth whatever “A” put in. It’s of course a message, clear and insightful as usual.

“I told you: Dead girls can’t smile. Stop looking.” – A

“A” knows that Spencer is getting close and while Hanna had her own mission, they were close to getting something. Since “A” took the file paper that Hanna stole, we wont really know what was on there. As for Spencer, she has information but she isn’t quite ready to share it. And she doesn’t have any real proof except the beer bottle. So next week Spencer is going to start kicking and things are going to get really put into motion. To which I say, about freaking time. We have been playing a cat and mouse game it’s time to get things moving forward and let these girls see how their world can get turned upside down again.

As for the file page that Hanna took, I have a picture of it.

ImageC. Cavanaugh is the name that stands out the most because well, it’s Toby’s last name. So it’s gotta be his Dad, Chris right? Time will tells. I’ll see ya next week for another episode. Remember I LIVE tweet through the show so catch me on Twitter for every episode.
